[2017-18 NBA Preview] Philadelphia 76ers

The NBA season is almost here. While the majority of people think the NBA season is already over before it even begins (let’s just go ahead and crown the Golden State Warriors right now, right?). we still have to let the season play out because YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN, RIGHT?

What if the Warriors are involved in some kind of freak accident and everyone gets hurt?

Well, the league just opened up for all 29 other teams to win the whole thing.

Even though I personally believe it would take a plane wreck to take the Warriors down, there are some NBA teams out there that think they have the tools and weapons to do exactly that.

Are the Philadelphia 76ers one of those teams? If you “TRUST THE PROCESS”, you probably think that the 76ers are ready to contend with the top dogs in the NBA this season. For those of you unfamiliar with “THE PROCESS”, the 76ers have basically been trying to stink on purpose for years now in order to put together a solid team through the NBA Draft. It’s a pretty ballsy move when you think about it. The NBA Draft is a gambler’s paradise. These prospects are far from a sure thing to succeed in the NBA, which is one of the reasons Sixers fans have been a little impatient with this whole thing. The “PROCESS” has gotten the Sixers top draft picks in Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz, and Dario Saric. Joel Embiid is a solid player, when he plays. He already has injury issues and you’re a damn fool if you think he’s all of a sudden going to get healthy as he gets older. It doesn’t work that way with big guys folks. Ben Simmons was supposed to be the next “KOBE/Jordan/LeBron”, but he couldn’t even get his NCAA team to an appearance in the tournament and then missed his entire rookie season with an injury. Dario Saric finally joined the roster last year and he was OK, but not great. And then there’s this year’s first-overall pick Markelle Fultz, who the Sixers traded up for in the draft in a move that I thought was incredibly dumb. I don’t think Fultz is going to be worth the #1 overall pick when it’s all said and done and I bet Sixers fans look back and end up hating that pick. Either way, no one really knows what to expect from this team this year. The things that we do know for sure are…..Joel Embiid will get hurt at some point in the season, Sixers fans will start hammering on Fultz within the first two weeks of the season, and the 76ers will be a fun team to watch this year.

Will “TRUSTING THE PROCESS” finally pay off big time for Sixers fans this season?
