[2017-18 NBA Preview] Minnesota Timberwolves

The NBA season is almost here. While the majority of people think the NBA season is already over before it even begins (let’s just go ahead and crown the Golden State Warriors right now, right?). we still have to let the season play out because YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN, RIGHT?

What if the Warriors are involved in some kind of freak accident and everyone gets hurt?

Well, the league just opened up for all 29 other teams to win the whole thing.

Even though I personally believe it would take a plane wreck to take the Warriors down, there are some NBA teams out there that think they have the tools and weapons to do exactly that.

Are the Minnesota Timberwolves one of those teams? Perhaps no other team in the NBA should be as excited as Timberwolves fans are going into this season. Why exactly? Because this is a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in almost FIFTEEN YEARS!!! FIFTEEN YEARS YOU GUYS!!! That’s just wrong. Either way, it’s a new era in Minnesota and this team looks ready to play its first post-season basketball in sometime. Karl-Anthony Towns is already one of the best young players in the game and he should develop even more this year, which is downright scary considering he’s already an animal. Andrew Wiggins is another guy who has quietly turned into one of the NBA’s best scorers and he’ll grow even more with another year under Tom Thibodeau. Where I start to get really excited with this Timberwolves team is of course the arrival of Jimmy Butler! The Timberwolves hosed the Chicago Bulls and stole Butler this off-season and now Minnesota has a nice little “BIG 3” that may not contend with the big dogs of the NBA just yet, but by season’s end…they could be making a lot of noise. Like I mentioned earlier, it’s been so long since Minnesota has seen post-season basketball that I’m sure their fans forgot what any of that’s like. That will change this year. With this young roster full of talent, if Minnesota misses the playoffs again this year, this team should be contracted and done away with for good.

Can the Timberwolves compete with the big boys of the Western Conference and sneak into the playoffs for the first time in forever?
