Three Things I Like About The Colts This Season:

-Andrew Luck: Luck might be starting the season out on the PUP list, and that would be a miserable thing for the Colts. Luck is easily the best player on the Colts. The team goes as far as Luck goes in my opinion. Even though Luck gets a lot of respect from the NFL community, I still don’t think he gets as much as he deserves. The guy is a stud folks. He’s a stud who’s been turning chicken shit into chicken food the last few years and if the Colts ever put a better overall team around him, they will win multiple Super Bowls. That time could be coming with Ryan Grigson getting shown the door this past off-season. That may have been the best thing that ever happened to Luck.

-Ryan Grigson’s Gone; Chris Ballard Arrives: For the last few years, the Indianapolis Colts have largely had one of the worst rosters in the NFL. The only reason they’ve been good AT ALL is because of a guy named Andrew Luck. If it wasn’t for Luck, there’s a good chance the Colts would basically be the Cleveland Browns. The roster that this team has put together has been pure garbage and general manager Ryan Grigson lost his job because of it. The guy just wasn’t good at his job and rightfully deserved to be let go. Chris Ballard comes over from the Kansas City Chiefs as the new GM and as a Chiefs fan I can tell you guys that this dude is excellent at his job. The Chiefs have one of the best rosters in the NFL right now and one of the reasons is Chris Ballard. What a hire for Indianapolis.

-AFC South: The Colts play in the AFC South, which has been one of the worst divisions in the NFL the last few years. That means that Indianapolis always has a chance to at least sneak into the playoffs. Houston has QB problems. Jacksonville is Jacksonville. And if something bad happens to Tennessee (like a Marcus Mariota injury), than the AFC South opens up for the Colts to take in my opinion. Indianapolis isn’t a very good team by any means, but being in the AFC South at least gives them an outside chance of making the playoffs.

Three Things I Hate About The Colts This Season:

-The Defense: The Colts have had the same problem the last few years and they just can’t seem to fix it. That problem? The defense has been absolutely atrocious and things don’t look any better this season. Just look at what the Colts are bringing to the table on paper. They have ONE starter that I would consider to be an above average player (Darius Butler). Everyone else is either average or just plain garbage. Like I mentioned earlier, it’s a problem the Colts have had for sometime now and things don’t look any better this season. New GM Chris Ballard should get this problem fixed in due time. It sure as hell can’t get any worse.

-Chuck Pagano: You ever heard the term “lame duck coach”? Of course you have. Well, Chuck Pagano has been a “lame duck” coach for the Colts for at least the past two seasons. It seems like the Colts have just been waiting for the moment to fire Pagano, but have hesitated in making a final decision when it comes to the guy. Everyone knows that Pagano isn’t working in Indy. Even though the guy has a decent record as the Colts head coach, something just isn’t working out right and it could be time for everyone to move on. Don’t be shocked if Pagano is the first head coach fired once the season does arrive.

-The Running Backs: Frank Gore is old as shit. Is he still an effective NFL player? Sure he is. but the wheels could literally fall off at anytime due to his age. Can you really trust Gore to have ANOTHER effective season as an NFL running back at the ripe age of 34? It could happen, but it will be tougher than ever for the old man. The Colts are going to need to get anything they can out of Gore though because he’s really all they have at the running back position as far as effective NFL players go.

The Prediction:

6-10
