I don’t know why and I can’t explain it really….but I love what the Indiana Pacers are bringing to the table this season. Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a big Nate McMillan fan. The guy was the head coach of my beloved Portland Trailblazers for years and I will always wish the best for him. I’m happy to see that he’s finally landed another head coaching gig in the NBA and the good news for him is…I think he has one of the most talented deepest teams in the Eastern Conference.

Indiana underwent a little bit of a makeover this off-season. They got rid of some dead weight and brought in some guys they are hoping can help bring Paul George and company back up to the elite ranks in the NBA. Jeff Teague and Thaddeus Young are two good underrated players who will come in and make a difference immediately. Monta Ellis isn’t as good as he used to be and he’s probably the weak link in the starting line-up, but that’s actually a good thing when you think about it. Myles Turner is one of the most exciting up-and-coming big men in the NBA and Paul George is Paul George. Plus with players like Al Jefferson, C.J. Miles, and Rodney Stuckey coming off the bench, the Pacers are pretty deep and will definitely surprise some people this season.

I might be a little too high on the Indiana Pacers this year, but it is what it is. There is always a team that comes out and surprises people and smashes expectations for that season. My pick for that team in the East is the Pacers. It wouldn’t shock me at all to see these guys facing LeBron James for the right to play the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. But hey….we are getting WAY ahead of ourselves…
