The Prediction:

33-49

I honestly don’t know what to expect from these guys this season. With Dwight Howard out of town and Mike D’Antoni setting up shop….it could seriously go a lot of different ways. Would it shock me to see the Rockets surpass expectations and become one of the best offensive teams in the league and sneak into the playoffs? Nope. Would it shock me to see the wheels fall off the entire thing as James Harden and company play some of the worst defense we’ve ever seen in NBA history? Nope.

You see what I’m talking about here? With D’Antoni and Harden working side-by-side there’s no telling how this season is going to turn out for the Rockets. The only thing we can guarantee is….it’s going to make for some awesome television from a basketball perspective. James Harden is a good player, but he doesn’t play a lick of defense. Newcomer Ryan Anderson is also a good player, but he doesn’t play a lick of defense. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see most of the Rockets games this season end up in 114-120 games and you know what? Sign me up for those.

Personally, I don’t think Mike D’Antoni is that great of a basketball coach. He’s already had four previous NBA jobs and it’s never worked out. Why would it work out now? I’m not sure what expectations are for this Houston team with their fan base, but let’s hope they aren’t very high. I’m sure this will be a fun team to watch play whenever they are on television, but I’m not sure they are going to be very good. Go ahead and surprise me Houston.
